Trenchfare was a new technique created in World War 1. Both sides dug trenches throughout the war. This resulted in stalemates that lasted for most of the war. Thousands of lives were lost on both sides because of this new way of fighting. Life in the trenches was terrible. Dead bodies piled up overtime because of the on going battles. Rats and lice were everywhere and disease spread rapidly. In fact, many of the lives that were lost were not because of the fighting, but of the poor conditions that could be found in the trenches. Poison gas became a new weapon used against the opposing of the trench, but it was also ineffective in the results, even though it did claim many lives. Overall, trench warfare did not have the positive results that were expected. Instead, it only assisted in slowing the course of WWI.

Re: Trench Warfare in WWI
I liked your statement about the war being a "stalemate", and that everyone was dying due to the trenches. Perhaps you could have added a little more on civilians and government? Civilians had to pay by taxes, supplies, their homes, even their own lives. Governments threw money torward the cause, and lost much of it that way..
